The earth is the home of all living beings including  plants, animal and human beings. No other planet in the solar system has life on it.

long ago, people thought that theearth was flat. They feared that if  a person  travelled far enough, he or she would fall of the earth. In 1519 an explorer named Ferdinand Magellan and his companions set sailfrom spain on a voyag. they kept on sailing in only one direction. After three year, one of his ship come back to Spain. The ship had actually circled the earth without falling off the edge This made scicentists believe that the earth was round, and and not flat.   

In 1969 american astronautNeil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin landed on the moon . they took  many photographs  of the earth from moon. All these photographs also that the earthis rounded in shape .

         the top flat point is known as the North pole and the bottom flat point is the south pole .an imaginary line called equator passes through the middle of the east .it divides into two equal parts  northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere .
