Delhi is an old city. it has many old building and forts. it is located on of the banks river Yamuna. Delhi was the capital city of many powerful kingdom for hundred of year. Delhi is a union  territory. the city is divided into parts; old DELHI new Delhi. being the capital of India,it is a part of an area know as the national capital territory. Delhi is surrounded by Uttar pradesh in the east and by haryana on the other three sides. Delhi became the capital of India by British in 1911. since new Delhi is capital of India, the main offices of the Government of India are located here. the offices of other countries are also located in Delhi. these offices are know as the Embassies or high commissions .
