        Mumbai is the capital of maharashtra. long  ago, it was made of seven island. the place was named after the local  goddess mumba devi. at that time, the place had no buses, trains, or ship. Around  1534, sailors from portugal arrived here . they found out that and upload goods. they named it Bombay or "goog bay" .graudally over years many industries developed in bombay. it become the capital of m .In  Maharastra   1960  .In 1955 bombay was renamed Mumai. Mumbai is situated on the west coast of india ,facing the Arbain sea . it is the biggest city in india in population. all important offices of the Maharashtra government are located in Mumbai .    

               Mumbai is well connected by a good network of transports system . the Chhaptrapati Shivaji Terminus and the Mumbai Central are the two busiest railway stations in Mumbai . local trains connect the different parts of the city . buses are the common means of travel. the Chhatrapati Sivaji International Airport in Mumbai is the busiest airport in airport in INDIA .Mumbai is also the busiest and biggest port of  INDIA.
